In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You’ll work closely with property managers, leasing staff, and other accounting professionals to ensure seamless operation of our real estate business.Key Responsibilities: Perform financial analysis of property transactions to evaluate and report on profitability, revenue, and expenses of property Create and maintain financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, general ledger reports, and bank reconciliations Prepare and review monthly financial statements for properties, including revenue and expense reports, and review expense accruals Manage and maintain tenant accounts, including processing rent payments, resolving tenant-related disputes, and monitoring unpaid rent Coordinate with property managers and leasing staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data for leases, including rent rolls and lease abstracts Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and reports for management review Provide support in the analysis of property valuations, sales, and acquisitionsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Minimum 3-5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably with experience managing multiple commercial or residential properties Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards and their application in real estate industry Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders Skilled in using accounting software such as Yardi, QuickBooks or MRI to manage financial information Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and completeness in financial reporting and analysis Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentIf you are a detail-oriented accounting professional looking for an exciting career in real estate, we encourage you to apply for the position of Property Accountant at our organization.
