Position Summary
The Regional Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing and improving the quality management systems across multiple manufacturing sites. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a small direct team and effectively influence quality engineers, technical managers, and lab managers at the plant level. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in quality management within the automotive industry or plastic injection sector and a proven track record in implementing new QMS and regulatory procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) across multiple sites.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Introduce and integrate new QMS and regulatory systems/procedures.
Team Leadership
Manage a small direct team and lead by influence across various plant-level quality teams.
Provide guidance and support to quality engineers, technical managers, and lab managers.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
Multisite Coordination
Oversee quality initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites in the US and Mexico.
Ensure consistency and standardization of quality processes across all sites.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor and assess quality performance.
Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
Utilize methodologies such as 8D and 5Y for problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Lead and coordinate corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.
Implement and track the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Automation and Innovation
Lead the introduction and implementation of automation in quality processes.
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in quality management.
Customer Concern and Resolution (CCAR)
Manage and resolve customer concerns using the CCAR resolution process.
Ensure timely and effective communication with customers regarding quality issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
5-10 years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry.
Automotive industry experience preferred; experience in plastic injection is a plus.
At least 4 years of experience in a managerial role with a focus on leading by influence.
Proven experience with the introduction and management of new QMS and regulatory systems/procedures.
Multisite management experience is preferable.
Strong understanding of troubleshooting and root cause methodologies, including 8D and 5Y.
Experience with the CCAR resolution process.
Experience FC Strategy and Scar follow up
Experience with NPI Development
Ability to travel extensively between the US and Mexico.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in quality management tools and software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
