A bit about us:
A local, successful electrical contracting company in Charlotte is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Estimator. This company has a 75 year history building across The Carolinas including numerous hotels, data centers, and entertainment buildings. The Senior Estimator will be joining a close-knit team led by the Preconstruction Manager, and will oversee 4-5 projects weekly with estimating bids and design. This Estimator should have 6 years of experience as an Estimator, with additional experience in the electrical contracting industry.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare comprehensive and accurate electrical estimates for a wide range of construction projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and understand project requirements.
3. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to identify electrical requirements and potential challenges.
4. Conduct thorough material take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
5. Utilize industry-leading estimating software such as Conest and Accubid to perform accurate and efficient estimates.
6. Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
7. Create and maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data, including labor rates, material costs, and productivity factors.
8. Collaborate with the electrical project management team to develop project schedules and identify potential risks or delays.
9. Provide ongoing support and guidance to junior estimators, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements in electrical estimating.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 6 years of experience as an electrical estimator in the electrical contracting sector.
2. Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as Conest and Accubid.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
4. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
7. Proven ability to analyze and evaluate project risks and provide innovative solutions.
8. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
9. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.
10. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Electrical Professional (CEP) are highly desirable.
