Job Details

Prominent insurance company is seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager to lead their Java Guidewire team! This role is open to seeing candidates who are either currently in a manager role OR a Senior Developer, ready to take the next step in their career. If you have a strong background in Java development and deep expertise in the insurance industry, particularly with Guidewire, we want to connect with you!

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, ensuring the successful delivery of insurance software solutions.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, with a focus on Guidewire or similar platforms.
• Transition from a senior development role to a leadership position, guiding your team through complex projects.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align on project objectives and ensure effective communication across all levels.
• Drive technical excellence within the team, promoting best practices in software development and problem-solving.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the insurance industry to ensure that our software solutions meet market demands.
  
  

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of professional engineering experience in Java development.
• 5 years of experience in building insurance software, with a strong preference for experience in Guidewire. Also open to Duck Creek, Majesco, or Socotra.
• Proven experience leading Java development teams, or a desire to step into a management role from a senior developer position.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
