Responsibilities:
- Partner with Inside Account Managers and Outside Sales Managers to develop strong relationships and profitable opportunities with clients by working in tandem with them and their end users.
- Interface with senior-level customer contacts through site visits, phone and email communication to identify and solidify customer needs and add technical expertise to customer proposals and designs and constructing bills of materials.
- Build demand for current and new products by creating spec position and promoting awareness through technical recommendations.
- Serve as a technical liaison for customers and internal sales teams.
- Keep sales team apprised of market and competitive intelligence, as well as upcoming technology trends and EIA/TIA specifications.
- Maintain and manage the database for all product specifications.
- Assist product development teams with technical expertise as needed.
- Assist with providing internal technical training as needed.
- Partner with the Director of Sales to create training programs for distributor and end user sales teams to include providing in person/virtual training and lunch and learns.
- Investigate lost sales within the distribution and end user sales channel to determine the root cause and develop a plan of recovery where applicable.
- Attend industry events and actively participate in related associations where strategically appropriate.
- Maintain competency in established area(s) of expertise with up-to-date industry standards.
- Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- In depth knowledge of a wide variety of cabling materials and methods of installation as well as NEC Code, local code(s), and EIA/TIA/BICSI Standards as well as site, local, and federal guidelines, and regulations.
- Ability to read and understand telecommunications plans and Construction Specifications Institute (Communications and Electrical Safety & Security - CSI Division 27 and 28) as they relate to infrastructure work.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Must Haves:
- Network design experience
- Selling datacenter products
- RCDD certification is a plus
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or IT related disciplines preferred.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) - preferred
