Are you passionate about the construction industry and have a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Steel Estimator to join our team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in our organization, contributing to the success of our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates. This role is integral to our company's ability to win bids and maintain profitability.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Steel Estimator, your duties will include but not limited to:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
2. Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand the scope of work and deliver accurate cost estimates.
3. Evaluating the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
4. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
5. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
6. Reviewing material and labor requirements, deciding on the most cost-effective procedures.
7. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of current market conditions and trends to ensure competitive estimates.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Steel Estimator position must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Steel Estimator or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in steel fabrication, commercial, public works, and infrastructure construction projects.
3. Proficient in using industry-standard software for cost estimation.
4. Excellent mathematical skills and a keen eye for detail.
5. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on the accuracy of estimates.
8. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
