Dietitian - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Dietitian plans and organizes work independently with minimal supervision.
- Participate in research and performance improvement studies.
- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments which include various factors like nutrient intake, medical history, and clinical symptoms.
- Utilize principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
- Coordinate and implement medical nutrition therapy interventions and education activities.
- The Dietitian conducts studies to evaluate and improve operational efficiency in food and nutrition services.
- Apply food service management principles within a healthcare setting.
- Coordinate patient participation and manage nutrition programs for active-duty members.
- Teach various nutrition classes and programs for beneficiaries of different age groups and health conditions.
- Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, including inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Monitor key laboratory values and adjust diet therapy accordingly.
- The Dietitian collaborates with physicians to personalize diet prescriptions for patients.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nutrition and dietetics.
- Experience: Minimum one year of specialized experience in diet therapy post-graduation.
- Licensure: Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Dietitian in a recognized region.
- Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Security Clearance: Ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
