What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Prep position at Joe's Real BBQ?
This particular Prep position is for someone inclined to be a "Runner" of food from the smoker or ovens to where it is needed in the restaurant. You will be called upon to get homemade side dishes and desserts into and out of the oven. If you like high-volume high-reward jobs, we'd love to meet you.
KITCHEN PREP
- Assist in production/preparation of “from scratch” recipes for high volume restaurant
- Previous Prep experience helpful but not required
- Learn food safety as related to our unique kitchen
- Must be able to work with little supervision
- Obtain a Food Handler Card as required by the County
- Practice personal hygiene to ensure food safety
- Occasionally carry heavy product (up to 20 pounds)
- Check food temperatures, recipe consistency frequently
- Watch training videos to heighten proficiency
- Read training manuals to ensure compliance with all outlined procedures
- Be prepared to be in cold (walk-in) and warm environments during shifts
- Become a subject matter expert in all things related to BBQ
