Joest’s continued growth in designing and manufacturing industrial vibratory equipment and metal conveyors for the North American market has created the need to expand our engineering staff. Founded in 1907, Joest Goessling is a global leader serving the scrap, recycling, mining, steel, foundry, stamping, forging, fastener, chemical and food industries in US, Canada and Mexico. Our growth is required us to increase our manufacturing operations by doubling the size of our production facility.
Joest's Chicago Area operations recently moved to a newly, renovated facility near the intersection of Roosevelt Rd (IL-38) and I-355 to accommodate our growing team. Joest is looking for a Draftsperson with significant SolidWorks experience to help with designing components and sub-assemblies for large industrial material handling equipment. This person will be responsible for preparing necessary detail, assembly and arrangement drawings required to fabricate parts and equipment to be manufactured and assembled in accordance with Joest standards. These activities may include welding requirements, tolerances (GD&T), material definition, machining, heat treating, stress relieving, size definition, and producing bill of materials.
This person will also be responsible for coordinating procurement processes, providing field support, creating sales models, and working with operations department to update as-built drawings.
Requirement Qualifications:
- 2-5 years hands on industry SolidWorks CAD experience. This is an absolute requirement. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement. Academic time will not be considered.
- Hands on person with practical drawing skills
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks #D
- Efficient with AutoCAD 2D
- Associates degree highly preferred, but not required
- Experience with large industrial equipment a big plus.
- Structural and support member experience helpful
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally ≤ 20%
- Ability to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor.
- Target oriented individual and ability to meet deadlines.
- Great attitude and excellent inter-personal skills
- A valued team player, energetic, willing to ask questions and open to learning from answers
Salary commensurate with experience
