This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
As a Senior Verification Champion for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Waterloo, IA, you will...
- Provide dedicated test support of Autonomous Solutions integrated into tractor programs.
- Create the software test strategy (where to test) for the scope of features being delivered - MiL/SiL (virtual environment), HiL (subsystem simulator in the Electronics lab, ViL (Tractor).
- Create the software verification test plan (which test cases to run) for the features delivered and for the defects fixed and define the appropriate level of regression testing required for each software release.
- Establish, track and report out software test metrics (requirements to test case coverage, test case data, test results, defects found, defects escaped ...).
- Coach and mentor new and early-career software developers and software testers.

- 3 or more years experience designing, developing, testing, or integrating products that were successfully delivered to production, especially electrical and mechatronic systems.
- 3 or more years experience with J1939 CAN protocol or CAN tools used for the logging and analysis of vehicle networks (Ex. Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, or Intrepid tool sets).
- 3 or more years working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
- Experience maintaining test documentation in version control systems and demonstrating compliance with applicable standards.
- Strong analytical skills to break down, solve, and convey complex features/issues to engineers in other disciplines.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with on-machine testing at Deere test sites or customer sites.
- Experience with test plan design and test execution at the component level or subsystem level.
- Experience with test case automation tools (e.g. ECU-Test, etc.).
- Experience using scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, etc.).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification or equivalent.
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
