Responsibilities
The Detailed Scheduler will create and maintain an optimized, executable, and detailed production schedule at the lowest level of the hierarchy for the operation with consideration of time, resources, capacity and raw materials that creates an optimum schedule plan to meet market demand in a timely manner. The Detailed Scheduler will provide proactive, clear, concise and accurate information to the internal and external stakeholders regarding issues, potential delays and deviations to the schedule. You will incorporate techniques to determine how best to sequence (Rhythm Wheel) and synchronize production. You will consider priorities, constraints, project work, maintenance activities and also handle all changes.
- Review all detailed schedule parameters to ensure accuracy.
- Ensures that materials and equipment are available for production according to scheduled timelines.
- Provides recommendations to Operations to adjust resources, work overtime, or subcontract work to balance overall manufacturing capacity
- Tracks and reports capacity, schedule attainment, performance-to-plan and past due plans by machine
- Organizes and leads weekly (and ad hoc) meetings with the Production supervisors to review and align to the weekly production schedule.
- Provides alternative scheduling scenarios to assist with potential vulnerability and recovery from misses in manufacturing
- Demonstrate practices to drive continuous improvement in detailed scheduling concepts through the use of systems, industry standard methodologies, and network collaboration.
- Knowledge of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
- Maintain a strong relationship/partnership with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Transportation, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.
- Perform scenario analysis to ensure the detail schedule optimization, review any questions and/or concerns with the MPS Planner.
- Align and formalize the capacity and material feasible detailed schedule with manufacturing, quality, warehouse, and any other appropriate function on a weekly basis.
- Understanding multiple portfolios and the nuances of those corresponding supply chains to drive further process improvements.
- Supporting or leading special projects related to product launches, line extensions, campaign strategies and various supply chain initiatives
- Supporting, contributing to, or leading the development and implementation of SAP based planning processes, and will be accountable for demonstrated use of SAP DS Planning to improve department efficiency.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably focused in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years experience in operations or related field
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills
- Prior experience with interdependent partnering and team management
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction
- The ability to troubleshoot difficult issues and implement positive change
- Collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority
- The ability to efficiently run projects and maintain timelines to meet schedule
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications
- Up to 10 % travel is required for this role
- Flexibility to be on call after hours
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or accelerated degree
- Strong SAP/ERP experience
- 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning
- 3 years in related fields; Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, Project Management, Procurement, Purchasing, Customer Support, Contract Management, Materials Management, Manufacturing
- A minimum of 1 year of SAP/APO planning experience
- Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training, and/or certification
- Experience working with applicable cross-functional business partners
- APICS Certification
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning
- A minimum of 1 year of SAP/APO planning experience
