Key Responsibilities:
- Be a technical leader within the Raynham Global Development Center (GDC) team as well as the worldwide joint reconstruction business focusing on CNC/CMM programming, work holding, tooling, fixtures, gaging, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Lead in a multi-functional team environment using engineering judgment, persuasion, and negotiation skills to anticipate and develop practical yet novel solutions to resolve product design, process design, and inspection challenges
- Act as a mentor to technical staff across all levels to ensure knowledge development, retention, and team growth.
- Own aspects of product and process development through fabrication and validation of innovative work holding and tooling solutions, prioritizing projects for the network while establishing and communicating timelines.
- Identify, vet, and implement innovative and emerging CNC programming, work holding, tooling, and inspection technologies that can be applied to network products and processes.
- Drive collaboration within peer groups and other network partners or customers to maximize project successes and execution of deliverables.
- Responsible for operating within a budget, understanding financial planning requirements, and providing input on budget allocation.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies in regards to EH&S issues.
Qualifications
Education:
- A BS in Engineering or other Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- A minimum of 8 years experience working in a highly regulated industry on implant and instruments manufacturing, new product/process development, advanced work holding, tooling, and gaging
- High proficiency with GD&T and drafting standards
- Technical expertise in machining (milling, turning, grinding, EDM, etc.), manufacturing electronic systems, work holding, and gaging with good knowledge of other types of manufacturing methods
- Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 13485, Design Control & manufacturing process qualification requirements as related to medical devices
- Awareness of financial accounting and analysis methods to assess product standard costs, project values, and capital requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to excel in a team-based manufacturing environment
