You will join the Analytical Characterization group within the company’s research and development organization. You will be a key member of the chromatography and wet chemistry laboratory for the qualitative and quantitative analyses of small organic compounds, additives, degradation products and impurities in complex polymer matrices. The position will also entail the development and the validation of analytical methods used for the development & stability study of medical devices. You will stay ahead of new scientific and technological developments in the field of chromatography and continuously improve the organization’s capabilities in test method development & validation. You will perform hands-on experiments independently while collaborating and/or mentoring other analytical associates. You may participate on New Product Development project teams and in that role may interact with cross-functional R&D development teams, develop the analytical strategy and coordinate all of the analytical characterization activities to support product development. This position will demonstrate strong technical expertise to enable product development and to tackle a wide range of analytical problems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Performs chemical analyses of various materials and chemicals.
  • Uses analytical techniques (e.g., chromatography, wet chemistry) and evaluation criteria for obtaining resolutions.
  • Exercises judgment generally within defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Practices safe and environmentally sound laboratory techniques adhering to regulatory, local government and safety guidelines.
  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner, through verbal and written reports, the results of assigned tasks.
  • Maintains secrecy of confidential and sensitive information by observing all procedures regarding securing and transmitting privileged information.
  • Documents and maintains complete records and checklists for future reference.
  • Assists senior staff in the preparation of technical reports and manuscripts.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry (Analytical, Physical, or Organic)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a MS degree OR a PhD degree

Experience and Skills:

  • Passion for solving problems using analytical technologies
  • Good interpersonal relationship and people skills

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

The anticipated base pay range for this position in NJ is $66000 to $95000
