What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy technician position at Johnson Memorial Health?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assists pharmacists in the preparation of pharmaceuticals including but not limited to filling medication orders, filling medication carts, preparing labels and data entry.
Counts, packages, and labels medication orders for inspection by a pharmacist. Ensures secure storage of controlled substances on a regular basis.
Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Refills automated dispensing devices.
Assists with the preparation and delivery of IV’s.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required by law and JMH policy.
Performs duties of the inventory technician when required.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-services, committee meetings, and workshops.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performs back-up tape changes for the IS department when required.
Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING :
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Must 1. maintain a current Indiana pharmacy technician license; or 2. must be a student at an approved college of pharmacy with a current Pharmacy Intern License;
or 3. absent 1 or 2 above, may enter JMH's Indiana State Board of Pharmacy approved training program as a Pharmacy Technician-in-training with Pharmacy Tech-in-Training Certification to be obtained within 30 days and Pharmacy Tech License to be obtained within 12 months of entering the program.
The centerpiece is Johnson Memorial Hospital, located in Franklin Indiana, just 20 minutes south of Indianapolis.

SCHEDULE :
Rotating Schedule. Monday - Friday 7 : 00 a.m. -3 : 00 p.m., 3 : 00 p.m. - 11 : 00 p.m.; Saturdays / Sundays 7 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.
75 hours per bi-weekly pay.
