Purpose
The Manager, Enterprise Applications s is responsible for planning, managing, and supporting multiple business systems (applications) and related development activities and projects. This includes responsibility for ensuring the administration and support for the proper architecture, functionality, and development of systems. The Manager, understands the processes performed by functional business areas and is proficient at leading discussions with the business to identify, plan, and execute the delivery and support of systems to enable business process capabilities.
Responsibilities and Skills
General:
- Collaborate with internal clients to understand functional requirements and reporting needs, and ensure that the provided requirements documentation are clear.
- Develop and maintain systems roadmap and architecture (data, APIs, system flow) that deliver needed capabilities, facilitate robust integration of systems/data across the enterprise, enables a secure sustainable environment, and ensures the timeliness, accuracy, quality and integrity of data across systems.
- Engage with the data engineering team and assist in supporting their mission and objectives.
- Engage with PMO to develop implementation plans and oversee the execution.
- Engage with the systems validation and governance team to support the needed validation, release and change management, adherence to controlled documentation, and steady-state operation of systems.
- Working with above teams, participate in formalized processes related to system implementations to ensure appropriate controls are designed and in place both as part of the design and implementation process and in the resulting system process and functionality.
- Analyze processes, risks, and controls; identify improvement opportunities, recommend actions that are pragmatic and achievable, and partner with others to resolve deficiencies.
- Coordinate system development activities with users and IT developers to ensure alignment on plans and timelines and cross-department needs are met.
- Provide a leadership role in the implementation of system components.
- Ensure all activities follow adopted system methodology and governance (SDLC policies and protocols), including proper documentation, and are executed within budget and timelines.
- Responsible for the overall operational health of systems enterprise wide, in alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g. 21 CFR Part11, GxP, GAMP).
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities over staff in accordance with policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; identifying staffing needs, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Help develop personnel to maintain an effective organization. Identifies staffing needs, dismissals, promotions and reviews.
- Keep current on new technical technologies and staff productivity tools.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and related/ equivalent experience.
- Extensive enterprise application development, management, and support experience including architecture (8 years); systems such as ERP, QMS, LMS, and other custom developed applications.
- Proficient working knowledge with data architecture and analytics; including data warehouses and Lakes (e.g. Dataverse, SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, and the like), and ETL/ELT methods and tools.
- Working experience with SDLC methodology, preferably in a regulated environment with specific change management protocols, structured analysis, design and programming techniques, data structures, including design and development of data warehouses.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerApps and Dataverse is highly desired.
- Healthcare industry experience is highly desired, within Plasma or Blood industry strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing complex system environments with 500 users and 20 sites.
- Comfortable engaging with business leaders and developing a thorough understanding of business processes and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
