Position Summary:
As a Lead Fabricator you will be responsible for following a blueprint while welding aluminum and steel. This role is crucial in ensuring quality control standards are met while following safety guidelines while leading others throughout the shop floor.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee day-to-day production activity.
- Facilitate departmental workflow to achieve optimum productivity while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Aid in planning projects and executing project guidelines.
- Weld a variety of aluminum or steel structures per blueprint requirements.
- Use shears, grinder, torch, press brake, or drill press as needed per job specifications.
- Reading and understanding product schematics, along with assembly instructions.
- Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
- In addition to any other duties assigned by the leader.
Work Environment:
- Work Conditions consist of a manufacturing plant environment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of work environments, such as cold and hot weather.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stoop, crawl, walk, twist, and stand for long periods at a time.
- Should have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Safety glasses and steel tipped work boots must always be worn.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Welding Certificate preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in Fabrication - metal, wood, and/or plastic
- Welding abilities in MIG, flux core, aluminum, TIG, and/or stick
- Sign fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Good dexterity
- Spectacular attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
