We are looking for an experienced Service Contract Buyer to join our team. This position can be remote, hybrid or remote depending on the individuals qualifications.
Position Summary:
This position will serve as an experienced professional on the Purchasing and Supply Chain team. This person will be responsible for overseeing activities associated with the purchases of services (subcontractors) and equipment rentals while providing supplemental procurement support to the team.
Duties and Expectations:
- Work with Project Management teams to identify and develop subcontract strategies to support our architectural and major projects divisions.
- Procures services to support our storefront and glazing division.
- Manage all activities associated with subcontractors for your assigned divisions.
- Assist the process of identifying and prequalifying subcontractors as needed.
- Lead the RFP and bid evaluation process for selection of the subcontractors.
- Facilitate negotiations of subcontract terms and pricing, consulting with legal and project management as applicable.
- Work within budget and schedule constraints for each project.
- Develop Subcontract Agreements and/or Master Service Agreements as needed.
- Maintain a central repository of subcontracts and project files for divisions supported.
- Lead subcontract administration activities such as kick off, change management/change orders, facilitating the invoicing process, project reporting, assisting with issue resolution and subcontract close-out.
- Complete other related projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding on General Contracting/Construction/Installation.
- Understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience writing and executing RFPs preferred.
- Prior experience with contract analysis and redlines preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and automation/workflow software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of experience in a related field is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk; climb ladders or stairs; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
Environment and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment; travel to other company locations as needed; works alone at times and frequently in a team setting; a substantial amount of contact with employees and insurance and investment administrators; occasional contact with external customers.
Work-schedule:
Normal work hours would be Monday through Friday; weekend and evening hours may be required at times depening on assigned project requirements but rare.
