What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead position at Joriki?
1. Safety:
- As Production Lead you are a role model for the employees working on the team. The Operations Lead does not take short cuts that compromise safety and will not allow a team member to take short cuts.
- As Production Lead you will immediately confront any unsafe acts.
- As Production Lead you will actively participate in Safety Incident Reports providing all available data to prevent reoccurrences.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for assuring that all employees in the department wear the required PPE. If you need directions regarding a safety related concern, immediately obtain direction from the Production Supervisor or Director of Operations.
2. Communication:
- As Production Lead you are an immediate source of information for the employees in the department. It is critical you have all the pertinent information prior to sharing and unless directed, communication will occur during work hours only.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for communicating production-related issues with the Production Supervisor in a timely manner. Provide all the details available to you when discussing issues.
- Questions or concerns you have related to the shift should be presented to your on-shift Supervisor before involving Supervisors from other shifts.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for conducting daily handoffs with 1st and 2nd shift Leads to ensure that the area is deemed acceptable at the time of shift exchange and any production concerns are reviewed.
- As Production Lead you will always act with a sense of confidentiality regarding communication with team members and sensitive topics.
- As Production Lead communication should always be professional in tone and content.
3. Employee Morale:
- As Production Lead you seek to build a strong team and have all employees contribute and participate.
- Production Lead understands the importance of treating all individuals with respect. As Production Lead you will treat everyone the way you want to be treated. A Production Lead also makes sure that all team members treat each other with respect.
- As Production Lead guard your words and actions. A Production Lead understands the importance of building trust and will not talk about one employee to another.
- As Production Lead you will inform the Production Supervisor, Director of Operations, or Human Resource Manager if there is a conflict between employees in the department.
4. Training and Performance Assessment:
· As Production Lead you are the primary source of training and direction for new employees. Check daily for training progress with the trainee.
· As Production Lead it is your responsibility to assist in the written assessment of a new employee’s performance during the first six months of employment.
· As Production Lead bring performance or behavioral concerns to the attention of the Production Supervisor and the Production Supervisor will determine the appropriate course of action.
· If a time sensitive situation develops, a Production Lead will seek direction from a Supervisor or Director of Operations, even if the Supervisor does not direct his line or department.
5. Quality:
- As Production Lead you are accountable for the product quality on your assigned shift.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for assuring that all employees and personnel in the department comply with GMP requirements.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for auditing that all quality checks are being performed as required by standard operating procedures.
6. Production Efficiency:
- As Production Lead you are responsible to monitor and coach the Team concerning Break and Lunch compliance.
- As Production Lead you are responsible for ensuring all employees are productive and have clear directions on the work that needs to be completed. Assign specific tasks to employees and check progress and completion.
- Follow all Production directions provided by your Supervisor or Director of Operations. If you’re not able to follow the directions for any reason, immediately contact the person that provided directions with questions, suggestions, or additional information.
Education:
· 3-5 Yrs experience within the Food & Beverage Industry
· High School Education or equivalency
· Leadership experience
