What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Prep Associate position at Joseph's Classic Market?
Position: Prep Cook
Joseph’s is known for its gourmet prepared foods and the presentation of display cases. Our prep cooks play an important role in ensuring the quality of food and the way it’s displayed is up to the company’s standards.
Routine Tasks:
-Maintains Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
-Preparing and executing Joseph’s recipes for various proteins, vegetables, starches, etc.
-Replenishes, maintains, and rotates products and display cases
-Packages and labels products
-Operates knives, ovens, stoves, grills, scales, wrapping machine and other Kitchen equipment
-Assists with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
-At least 18 years of age
-Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
-Ability to interpret and follow instructions
-Ability to work well with others
-Food preparation experience
-A passion for serving people
A Meat Clerk performs their tasks primarily in the Kitchen department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work may be done inside a preparation room and a refrigerated cooler, you will be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work also includes frequent interaction with fellow employees.
