Summary:

A JoshCo Group LLC DBQ Writer is responsible for reviewing complex forms with a strong attention to detail, the ability to problem solve, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting. Must be self-motivated, ethical, goal oriented, and able to thrive in an environment where flexibility and creating a positive customer experience are the main goals.  The DBQ Writer reviews, evaluates, and writes a client's DBQ application and supporting documents.

Essential Functions:

  • Examines and evaluates DBQ documents such as “mini-DBQs” and medical forms to determine that all the appropriate DBQ forms are correctly filled out.
  • Ensure Case Manager has all information needed to move forward in submitting their client’s claim
  • Request additional information from Case Manager when appropriate
  • Communicates orally or in writing with Case Manager, DBQ Reviewer, Team Leader, etc. to obtain further information by collecting background information and assessments of client’s injuries
  • Assists Case Manager and support staff in resolving problems and questions.
  • Meets production, timeframe, and quality guidelines as established by Team Leader.

Qualifications or Competency:

  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient computer skills and typing at 30+ WPM
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; it would require the ability to lift files,  open filing cabinets, reach with hands and arms, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the “core” work hours of the business are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Schedules must be approved by the COO.

Travel:

Travel to offsite trainings or meetings may be required and is estimated to be less than 5%.


Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 1 year of JoshCo Group LLC  experience and/or training.
