Senior Product Designer 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team at Journal Technologies. This role will be pivotal in helping redesign a suite of software to provide a best-in-class, intuitive and cohesive user experience. As part of your role as a Product Designer, you will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a robust design system that will be used across multiple products. Product Design Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to create engaging and user-friendly designs. 
  • Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions. 
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies. 
  • Apply accessibility and usability best practices based on Design System best practices and guidance. 


Design Systems Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive design system that will be used across multiple products. 
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure the design system meets the needs of the organization. 
  • Develop guidelines and best practices for implementing the design system. 
  • Advocate for accessible and inclusive design practices to “shift left” into the design phase of products. 
  • Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions and ensure the design system is user-friendly and accessible. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the design system is implemented consistently and effectively. 
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging design and technology trends and incorporate them into the design system. 


Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 7 years of experience in product design, with experience with design systems. 
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and design system best practices. 
  • Experience creating and maintaining complex design systems in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and time-management skills. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High-level understanding of front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js. 
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Salary : $125,000 - $135,000
