What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collection officer position at Journey Bank?
Journey Bank, a strong, independent community bank with over $1 Billion in assets and 275 employees headquartered in Bloomsburg PA, seeks full-time Collections Officer in our Central Road, Bloomsburg Office.
As part of the Collections Team, this position reports to the Chief Credit Officer. Our ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Business or a related field and have specialized collection education / training with a minimum of three (3) years' related experience.
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to :
- Oversee the Collections function in order to effectively collect past-due loans.
- Maximize the recovery of financial resources related to the problem loan accounts.
- Contributes to the soundness of the loan portfolio through prompt collection of delinquent accounts.
- Conducts periodic audits of floor plans.
- Cooperates with the adherence to all internal policies, procedures and practices.
- Coordinate tasks withing the department as well as with other departments to ensure the flow of information.
- Maintain appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
- Requirements : Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills;
- thorough knowledge of collection procedures and regulations; working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control systems and procedures;
moderate PC skills; ability to lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; visual and auditory skills, valid driver's license.
Education & Experience : Associate's degree in business or other related field preferred; a minimum of three (3) years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
