Our Delaware Valley Division, located in Souderton, PA is currently searching for a Tractor Trailer Driver due to growth!
What You Will Do:
- Assist with the loading or unloading of trailers.
- Safely operate semi-truck with one or two trailers, according to state laws. Transport load over required route to proper destinations, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Chock rear wheels of the truck or trailer before any unloading takes place as required. Removes chocks before driving away.
- Obtain load weight tickets and sign for load.
- Maintains any related records required, e.g., driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed logs, etc.
- Clean unit after each load removing debris from trailer body and tractor.
- Ensure the truck is tarped.
- Perform all daily duties and inspections identified in the vehicle pre and post trip Vehicle Condition Report. Report any maintenance malfunctions on the Vehicle Condition Report and report it to the maintenance shop supervisor.
- May be required to fill in driving a Dump Truck, Roll Off, Rear Load, or Front Load trash vehicle if properly trained and approved for the same.
- Ensure the cab is kept clean and truck is parked in the correct location at end of shift.
- May switch empty/full trailers in yard on off shifts for optimum loading patterns on the following day.
- Abide by Company policy and attendance requirements.
- Notify the Company immediately of any accident, traffic violation, or license suspension.
- Must abide by all safety rules and participate in all safety related programs.
You Have:
- A minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Valid state commercial drivers license (CDL Class A or equivalent).
- Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with personnel at pick up or drop off points.
- A high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of tractor trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment.
- Frequently sitting in trailer cab for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move 75 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, get into and out of tractor and trailer unassisted, and perform all required Vehicle Condition Report checks/inspections unassisted.
- Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety sensitive employee subject to random substance abuse screening under Department of Transportation or Company policy.
