What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Inspector position at JRGO, LLC?
Position Summary:
The Chief Inspector represents the Client in all aspects of construction including Quality of Process, Quality of Product, and Documentation. The Construction Field Representative is responsible for ensuring that the design and engineering is being implemented on-site appropriately, and that the construction work is carried out in accordance with QA, safety, environment programs, guidelines, and regulations as applicable.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the contractor, engineers, and project managers
- Perform on-site observations of construction activities.
- Prepare weekly reports documenting construction progress and issues.
- Assist Team and Review Proposals and Quotes.
- Provide field checks and or investigations as per request of Team and Client.
- Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
- Attend construction meetings on behalf of Team and Client
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem Solving
- Highly motivated individual
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- 5 years of experience with construction activities
- 5 years of related NDE experience
- Safety training preferred
- Experience in a customer service focused organization.
- Strong customer service communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Work independently, in a safe and effective manner with minimal direction and supervision in a procedure driven environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Schedule)
- AutoCAD experience preferred
- Revit experience preferred
Management Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and assistance with scheduling and mobilization plans
- Provide current updated procedures to support team
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications)
- High school or GED
- Minimum five-years work experience with construction activities.
Environmental/Working Conditions
- Construction sites
Other Considerations/Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, and for extended periods of time.
- Must have a passport or the ability to attain a passport.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to rent vehicles.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand for long periods of time; routinely walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must be able to lift push, pull and/or move more than 100 pounds frequently.
Work Environment: The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
