Job Description:

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall execution of Configuration Management (CM), Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), In-Service Engineering, Data Management and repair services for failed parts and units for the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS), NPES, and Tomahawk Weapons Systems Programs for the following submarine classes: Los Angeles, Seawolf, Ohio, Virginia, Columbia.


CM services cover configuration identification, configuration change control, configuration audits, and configuration status accounting for all applicable submarine classes. This entails detail tracking and record keeping of all hardware and software configurations for installed platforms, engineering change documentation development, review, and approval, and status accounting for follow on life cycle support of configuration items. CM services are implemented in accordance with the PMS425 CM Plan.


ILS services provide logistics support for the entire lifecycle of systems, through requirements definitions and design to fielding and follow on maintenance. ILS services cover the development, review, maintenance, and delivery to installed platforms. Key subject areas include, maintenance planning, training, technical documentation, and supply support including provisioning, sparing, and parts management. ILS services are implemented in accordance with the PMS425 ILS Plan.


ISE services provide maintenance and support for in service systems. ISE services include installation and testing, analyzing operation and maintenance data, recommending corrective actions and improvements, maintaining reliability, maintainability, and availability (RM&A), and coordinating obsolescence support. ISE services include fleet engineering support including engineering assistance to the fleet, investigation of issues, consultation, and coordination for deliveries, updates, and resolution to fleet reported issues. ISE services are implemented in accordance with the PMS425 ISEA Assignment Letter. 


Additionally, CM, ILS, ISE, Data Management support will be required for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and the United Kingdom (UK).


The following programs will be covered:

Combat Systems: CCS MK2 Block 1C, AN/BYG-1, and Future Capabilities being integrated into the Combat System Weapon Launchers: Countermeasures, Weapons Launch Console (WLC), Weapons Launch Console Integrated Enclosure (WLCIE), Universal Weapons Launcher (UWL), Common Weapons Launcher (CWL) (including RAN CWL and Columbia CWL), Collins Weapons Data Converter (CWDC), and Virginia Payload Module (VPM), Tomahawk Weapons System (TWS) Weapon Simulators: Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS)


The following NPES will be covered:

  • Data Processing Subsystem (DPS),
  • Monitoring System (MS),
  • Ship Control (SC),
  • Acoustic/Sonar System (AN/BQQ)
  • Navigation System
  • Imaging subsystem (AN/BVS-1),
  • Electronic Support Measures (ESM) (AN-BLQ-10),
  • Electronic Support Measure (AN/WLR-8),
  • Acoustic Interception (AN/WSQ-3),
  • Communication: Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR)
  • Consolidated Afloat Networks & Enterprise Services (CANES)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • 10 years of Naval project management experience
  • Experience with managing a team of roughly 25 personnel
  • 10 years combined experience working either AN/BYG-1, Ohio, and/or Tomahawk programs
  • Experience with planning CM and ILS product development schedules and strategies
  • Experience with supporting submarine modernizations and in-service updates
  • Experience with platform installation coordination, scheduling, and hardware/software deliveries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of Naval project management experience
  • Experience with managing a team of roughly 35 personnel
  • 15 years combined experience working either AN/BYG-1, Ohio, and/or Tomahawk programs
  • Experience leading the planning of CM and ILS product development schedules and strategies
  • Experience with supporting submarine modernizations and in-service updates for the AN/BYG-1, Ohio, and Tomahawk programs
  • Experience leading platform installation coordination, scheduling, and hardware/software deliveries
  • BS/BA Degree

Security Clearance:

Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
