Jt's Landscaping is a family owned business who provides Landscape Design, Installation and maintenance services to both residential and commercial properties. JTs Landscaping is a family owned business that was started in 2000. JT's Landscaping is based in Wake forest and provides services to the entire triangle area.
Job Summary:
Manage, schedule and oversee all maintenance, diagnoses, services, and repairs on all trucks, equipment, trailers and other equipment. Manage all individuals whether full-time or part time working at the shop and scheduling their workload to be efficient and well-structured. Manage all inventory of all locations and purchase/order materials as directed. Manage/oversee all shop maintenance weather by use of internal employees or subcontractors. You should be detail-oriented, able to maintain inventory, operate safely and keep the shop in a clean and orderly manner. Reports to Branch Manager with a Positive and uplifting attitude.
GENERAL:
- Follow company policies
- Be able to prioritize and execute work orders, develop systems, and compose standard operating procedures.
- Work with MP Web/Aspire to have complete fleet records accurately kept and maintenance records/costs
- Schedule repairs efficiently and proactively.
- Implement a preventive maintenance calendar for all trucks and equipment based on time or meter.
- Insure trash is properly managed and disposed of in shop and outdoor dumpster
- Confer with employees to obtain descriptions of equipment or vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
- Use email to send out daily updates on each piece equipment repairs to employee and supervisor
- Network with vendors to build relationships and insure lowest cost for parts and products
- Properly dispose of waste fluids
- Submit monthly expense report on time
- Monitor Fleet Sharp for vehicle error codes
- Work with Management to purchase new gear as need it and properly identify it
- Keep Shop and grounds around shop immaculate- keep parking lot graded and free of debris
- Coordinate deliveries and subcontractors for waste and hauling with Office Admin and/or shop assistant.
- Work with Management and shop assistant to schedule pick up and deliveries of materials, parts, equipment and vehicles.
- Keep shop properly secure and insure cameras a properly working and facing the proper direction.
FLEET & EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT:
- Examine equipment and / or vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Identify equipment that is better being replaced then repaired based on age and value.
- Manage company assets and crew assignments
- Oversee in/out process and ensure being followed properly.
- Record vehicle and equipment damages
- Logging all repairs and costs through MTC Pro Web software.
- Ensuring all miles and hour meters are updated at proper intervals and service schedules are followed.
- Trailer upkeep
- Asses damages to vehicles/equipment and report in a timely manner
SHOP MANAGEMENT:
- Keep clean, tidy, and organized work space to include yard. Create shop / yard standards and insure they are appropriately enforced
- Responsible for developing plans to improve the cleanliness and order of the shop and yard space. Manage and oversee the improvements.
- Insure property gate is properly functioning
- Place orders with vendors with proper part numbers and coordinate with shop assistant to pick up or receive materials. Take delivery and/or Receive materials from vendors.
- Assist with Holiday decorations material staging and inventory.
MECHANIC/SHOP ASSISTANT/SUBs MANAGEMENT
- Verification of any shop help timesheets/invoices
- Coordination of schedule and needs
- Manages and oversees schedules and coordinates the activities of assistant and other employees as it relates to having repairs performed and improvements made on shop and yard.
- Prioritization and management of all shop employees to include mechanics, assistant mechanic, shop hands and general labor when additional shop work is needed.
Inventory Management
- Complete inventory management and allocation of materials from all inventory locations (including mobile locations)
- Pulling of orders in advance of jobs to be picked up by crews
- Management of all shop needed materials to include fluids, belts, blades and all commonly used parts.
- Management and purchasing of all common goods: PPE, tarps, hand tools, trash bags, edger blades, string trimmer line, paint……
- Managing inventory to stock thresholds and creating and ordering EOP with site one and other potential vendors
- Nursery stock inventory and care. Arrange for material pick up/delivery and allocations.
Additional requirements:
- Ability to read and write in English and to understand and carry out simple instructions
- Minimum of 5 years repair experience with mowers, small engines, 2 cycle equipment, and utility vehicles.
- Must be a team player with good communication abilities: must be adept at fostering communication between branch management, account management and crew leaders.
- Positive and uplifting attitude and approach towards the company and co-workers.
- Strong organization skills-strength in record keeping, shop cleanliness, inventory and parts ordering, desire to stay proactive and not reactive as it applies to preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Basic computer skills, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Comply with full criminal background check which includes misdemeanor and felony investigation
- Comply with random drug and alcohol screening throughout the year

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
