Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Commercial Manager - Automotive team, in our Detroit sales facility. Individuals will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets. The Commercial Manager will play a key role in building and nurturing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the overall success of the automotive market.
Job Duties
- Achieve Sales and profitability targets based on annual and 5-year budgets.
- Work with Business Unit Manager and VP Sales and Marketing to prepare annual and long-range plans and forecasts to achieve designated sales and marketing objectives. Work closely with customers to develop relationships and manage sales pipeline.
- Work closely with Business Unit Manager and Customer Service Reps in the preparation of competitive quotes and bid proposals. Review and follow up on price, delivery and competitive activity on quotations. Make recommendations as to sales and pricing policies to Business Unit Manager with input from appropriate resources.
- Manage Sales Pipeline in Salesforce with frequent updates
- Provide marketing information regarding new product directions, different sales or distribution approaches, shape of market or price trends. Make recommendations relative to appropriate courses of action and assist in the tactical execution.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide assistance to Business Unit Manager and other stakeholders in new product development projects (product literature creation, trade show participation, industry/customer presentations).
- Develop and maintain close relationship with key accounts. Conduct sales meetings, training sessions and product presentations as appropriate.
- Participate and contribute to cross-functional business area teams as assigned.
- Assist Accounting with recommendations for credit lines of new accounts.
- Attend online and in person meetings as appropriate with overseas colleagues in efforts to coordinate sales efforts.
- Frequent domestic and occasional international travel to work directly with customers onsite in development of sales objectives.
- Perform other related duties as responsibilities necessitate or as assigned or directed.
- Broad knowledge of technical sales and marketing involving the use of a broad theoretical knowledge equivalent to a complete 4-year college or university education.
- 7-10 years of progressive learning experience
