Genesis Motion Solutions (GMS) – Supply Chain Manager

NW Washington State / Remote

  • The preferred location is NW Washington state, within reasonable commuting distance to Langley, BC; relocation support provided
  • Working remoting in the US is possible but frequent long duration visits to Langley, BC is required

Our portfolio of disruptive actuation solutions is generating significant demand in the marketplace. We are looking for a motor supply chain expert for the position of Supply Chain Manager. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the “Make” mandate of GMS by primarily focusing on sourcing, developing, and continuously improving the supply chain partners we need for in-house low-volume prototype builds and high-volume outsourced contract manufacturing. The business is growing at a rapid pace and key to success in GMS’ operating environment is a supply chain leader that understands what needs to be done to successfully scale a hyper-growth business.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Support the Make mandate which is: 1) prototype builds in Langley, BC and 2) high-volume production via global contract manufacturers.
  • Source, qualify, and manage preferred suppliers (fab shops, machining capabilities, etc.) for high-precision prototypes. This network of vendors becomes an “extended workbench” to support Make activities in Langley.
  • Source, qualify, and manage a global portfolio of contract manufacturing capabilities to support high volume production.
  • Support management of a highly configurable product portfolio with hundreds or thousands of SKUs.
  • Contribute subject matter and industry expertise in sourcing components for permanent magnet motors.
  • Share industry knowledge proactively with the Make team and the broader organization.
  • Staff, coach, and mentor team members; encourage and reward contribution-motivated and value creation behaviors, resulting in a highly motivated and high performing team that contributes immensely to achieving GMS’ vision.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Managerial level experience in supply chain
  • Experience in sourcing and managing contract manufacturers
  • Experience working in a manufacturer of electric motors, actuation components, or electronics/electrical components
  • Able to relocate to NW Washington state or able to frequently travel to and stay for long durations in Langley, BC


What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Experience in permanent magnets motor supply chain is highly preferred
  • Experience in precision gears and motion technologies
  • Experience working with complex engineered hardware products
  • Experience supplying products globally to markets such as automated assembly, robotics, semiconductor, or automated packaging equipment
  • Broad experience and achievements across multiple areas within Manufacturing & Operations
  • Experience building and ramping up industrial products in a global supply chain
  • Demonstrated success in scaling-up an organization from low to high volume manufacturing
  • Strong influencer and collaborator
  • Highly entrepreneurial and solutions oriented
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • MBA along with education in an engineering field

The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. For this role, we anticipate paying $110k - $170 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
