Julius Silvert is hiring a Purchaser to join our growing team. For over 100 years, our family-owned business has proudly served customers along the East Coast while growing our organization and valuing all team members. We're looking for someone who has previous purchasing experience in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a new environment to grow. Responsibilities:

• Execute purchase orders based on inventory levels and demand forecasts
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and deliveries
• Monitor stock levels and reorder products as necessary
• Ensure timely delivery of ordered products
• Communicate with vendors regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product availability
• Input data and pricing into company software system, keeping all records up to date
• Assist in resolving any discrepancies in orders or deliveries
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth receipt and storage of products
• Support inventory management efforts to minimize overstock and stockouts

Qualifications:

• 3 years' experience in purchasing (food and beverage industry preferred)
• Familiarity with grocery, commodity, and diverse food products
• Experience with protein, dairy, specialty foods, grocery, frozen or paper products a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in using inventory management software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
• Bachelor's degree preferred
