In the pet care industry, cleanliness is next to godliness. Keeping our resort clean, organized, and sanitized creates safe accommodations for our canine guests.
This job is not rocket science. However, it takes real attention to detail and dedication to cleaning for live beings. And it takes a really strong back! Working around dogs is definitely fun and rewarding, but it is quite physically demanding, too. Check out the physical requirements listed below.
Just Dogs PlayCare has stringent sanitation standards and provides rigorous training on cleaning processes and procedures that are industry specific.
Responsibilities
- Complete sanitary and cleaning tasks in designated facility areas precisely to ensure safe and healthy caretaking of pets (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, kennel cleaning, etc.)
- Requires physical work such as bending, stooping, lifting, working on feet, and occasionally interacting with strong dogs.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects, which may include working outdoors doing cleaning and grounds maintenance
- Make adjustments and minor repairs as needed. Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Assist other team members as needed, which may include walking dogs or moving them around
- Must be available to work some holidays and weekends as assigned.
- Must be able to work as scheduled with regular attendance in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- Proven working experience in cleaning or maintenance
- Ability to handle and properly maintain cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies & familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Reliability, dependability, integrity, and a desire to improve professional skills and competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction from others and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Previous positive work history, including supervisor references
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in the presence of dogs
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to complete requirements of the job, including frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, pulling, fine manipulation skills using hands, arms, shoulders, back, and legs.
- Ability to complete difficult physical work, including interacting with strong dogs, being on your feet for up to 8 hours, working often outdoors even in poor weather conditions.
