Position Summary:
The Project Accountant will focus on accounting and finance responsibilities and will handle full-cycle accounting with limited supervision. The project accountant will also provide accurate and timely information as required internally by management and externally by investors or other parties.
This position will complete all job functions efficiently and by the assigned deadlines by utilizing and developing skills such as problem solving, decision- making, time management and effective communication to achieve the desired results.
Job Responsibilities:
The Project Accountant will report directly to the Controller and have full involvement, responsibility and accountability to include monthly, annual and other duties as detailed below:
Monthly
Reconcile and understand all balance sheet accounts
Produce financial statements and supplementary reporting as required
Utilize budgets and other tools to analyze variances
Monitor cash positions and anticipate future cash deficiencies
Perform bank reconciliations including follow up and correction of outstanding items
Monitor and review receivables for accuracy, adjustments and/or corrections
Ensure all administration duties are processed per documentation as required
Supply analysis and statements of accounts as required
Monitor and review accounts payable coding for accuracy
Annually
Complete year end operating cost adjustments and billings - this includes reconciliation of accounts
Responsible for completing accounting portion of assigned budgets
Follow up on status of budgets throughout the draft, revised and final stages to ensure completion within the assigned deadlines
Assist in the preparation of supporting working papers and documentation for tax filing process as assigned
Assist with preparation of 1099’s
Other Duties
Full understanding of all processes and upkeep of pertinent information relating to accounting
Input/feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
Participation in staff meetings and department related special projects
Qualifications/ Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline
Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Detail oriented personality with a logical thinking approach is a must to succeed
Must demonstrate initiative and reflect a strong sense of urgency in daily duties by meeting deadlines
Must be comfortable in multi-tasking environment
Must possess excellent communications skills to successfully interact with clients and keep management informed of potential problems and/or opportunities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in team environment.
Proficient with technology applications, including Microsoft Office Applications and accounting software
Capability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by the organization
Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow
Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and professionalism.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
