What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic position at JVM Solutions?
JOB PURPOSE
JVM is hiring a Paramedic to perform a full range of Paramedic procedures on site, using Government furnished facilities, equipment and supplies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Assess patients needs for emergency care, stabilize and provide emergency interventions,
- Administers oxygen, IV fluids, emergency medications oral, subcutaneous and intra-muscular medication;
- Prepares, operates, and monitors specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, etc.;
- Inventory medicine and drug stocks to ensure adequate supplies and controls;
- Transports patient;
- *Chaperone and/or assist in gynecology exams (female paramedics only);
- *Assist medical officers with minor surgical procedures such as toenail removal, cyst/mole removal, etc;
- *Provide evaluation and management of emergency walk-in patients and for regularly scheduled patients;
- *Assist patients in obtaining routine non-medical information such as fitness for duty status;
- *Receive and screen incoming telephone calls;
- *File and maintain patient records;
- *File referrals and laboratory reports in patient records;
- *Maintain health record checkout file system;
- *Input daily patient appointment data into Clinic Automated Management Systems (CHCS);
- *Working knowledge of MS Office/Windows knowledge;
- *Route incoming correspondence appropriately;
- *Schedule and track patient consultations for specialty care;
- *Maintain referral log and notify patients of appointments;
- *Review and verify patient eligibility for care in accordance with Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS) computer system guidelines;
- *Additional duties may be assigned by the Clinic Administrator.
* Indicates administrative and patient assessment duties that the paramedic shall perform during non-ambulance runs.
QUALIFICATIONS
The provider of Paramedic services shall possess and maintain for the duration of this agreement:
- A Diploma from a state approved Paramedic School (Associates Degree);
- A current certificate in the state of Massachusetts as a Paramedic;
- A current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS);
- A minimum of two (2) years recent (immediately preceding the submission of this offer) clinical experience in providing Paramedic services;
- All contractors must be able to meet requirements (imposed by the state in which they are licensed) of collaborative (to include prescriptive authority) for employment on a federal installation/reservation.
- “No adverse information on file” with the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB).
- Each paramedic must possess and maintain current authorization to practice for Cape and Islands EMS system
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass criminal background check.
