JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The production planner/scheduler is responsible for updating work per customer requirements for on time shipping and adjusting any work orders internally to enhance effectiveness. Assists the Director of Operations in planning production schedules for individual departments and following up actual against scheduled production. Daily activities for this position will vary based on the available work flow from customers and outside vendors as well as material availability.

1. Process daily work orders.
2. Assemble job packets for plant distribution.
3. Distributing work orders throughout the shop.
4. Data entry in appropriate databases.
5. Complete advanced ship notices.
6. Works with distribution to correct any inventory errors or changes.
7. Attends scheduling meets for upcoming work planning.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two to three years of experience scheduling in a manufacturing setting.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Familiarity with E2 shop systems and KanBan
Working conditions
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required in some areas.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
