Purpose

Preventatively maintains the facilities while providing support to internal customers. This position also performs testing, diagnostics, maintenance and revision work on machine tools including NC and CNC controls, PLC hardware and software, control circuits, electro/mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Must demonstrate proficiency in all Facilities Maintenance Mechanic II job requirements.

· Perform maintenance and repairs on plant power distribution systems.

· Perform adjustments, alignments and calibrations on equipment including sheet metal fabrication equipment and their control systems.

· Develop and maintain Standardized Work instructions for manufacturing - this includes information gathering, creating images for step-by-step instructions dealing with assembly, testing, shipping, fabrication, and other related operations which depict sequence of processes, required tools, quality checks, etc.

· Develop and maintain Assembly line balance and support development and maintenance of Assembly routings as required.

· Provide day-to-day technical support for operations, including process / lean / KPS improvements and initiation of Engineering Change Requests as required.

· Procure and manage assembly hand tools, work stations and equipment as required.

· Support NPD initiatives and the successful and timely introduction of New Products into production.

· Support successful and timely introduction of Engineering Changes into production.

· Support plant safety and security programs as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School or GED required. Trade School preferred.

Experience

7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Experience and understanding of AC electrical systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fire life safety, HVAC, concrete repair, welding and troubleshooting.

· Seen as Subject Matter Expert regarding facilities maintenance.

· Can supervise contractors.

· Strong problem-solving abilities

· Ability to work well with a team as well as independently

· Ability to use a multi-meter, amp-meter and oscilloscope

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

· Abiltiy to read/interpret Engineering drawings and schematics.

· Ability to perform work measurement and line balance activities.

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools, and KNA manufacturing technologies and operational processes.

· Proficiency in applicable functions of KNA's ERP system (SAP) is required.

· Mechanical aptitude is required so as to understand the functional principles of the equipment KNA produces and capabilities of relevant manufacturing technologies.

· Moderate ability to use MS Office products such as Word & Excel is required, as well as ability to create and manipulate digital photographs and CAD images in these applications.

· Experience with CAD programs (AutoCAD, ProE/CREO) is preferred but not required.

· Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.

· Ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally, based upon trust, confidence and personal rapport.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and recognized similarities and difference between words and between series of number. Ability to print and speak simple sentences

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with arms and hands. Standing for 8 hours and frequent walking required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually high, proper protective equipment is required.
