We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Painter who will contribute to the creation of high-quality customized trailers. As a key member of the production team, this position will be responsible for applying paint finishes to trailers according to client specifications, ensuring a flawless appearance and long-lasting durability. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, Company safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Work performed will be on customized trailers built from ground up. First shift hours are 6am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, with weekends as job demands.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as necessary
Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes, following specific paint codes and customer preferences
Operate paint spraying equipment and other tools to apply paint evenly and efficiently to trailer surfaces
Monitor and adjust painting parameters such as pressure, flow rate, and spray pattern to achieve optimal results
Apply clear coats and protective finishes to enhance the appearance and durability of the paint job
Ensure consistent color matching and quality by adhering to established painting techniques and standards
Perform touch-ups and corrections as needed to maintain the integrity of the finished product
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized painting area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials
Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to ensure accurate execution of customized designs
Keep accurate records of paint usage, color formulas, and work performed
Participate in quality control inspections to identify and address any imperfections or defects
Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production
Observe all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment
Maintain open communication with team members and leadership
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Proven experience as an automotive or industrial painter, preferably with experience painting trailers or large vehicles
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Basic reading and writing skills
Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
Proficiency in using various paint application techniques and equipment, including spray guns and paint mixing systems
Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and finishing materials
Ability to interpret paint codes, color charts, and design specifications
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing precise and high-quality work
Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines
Solid understanding of safety procedures related to painting and chemical handling
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
Willingness to work flexible hours based on production demands
Physical stamina required for position and the ability to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, etc.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
