Freelance (5 to 10 hours per week) 

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Information Security in our organization, your role is critical in providing expert advice to customers and offering robust industry-standard solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in addressing customer questions, building their confidence, and ultimately winning their business. Collaborating with various teams across the organization, you will contribute to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that our solutions meet the highest industry standards.

The resources must have the basic askes which are as below

Minimum 2 core skills (At least in Advanced level)

Minimum 2 secondary skills (Near to advanced = Intermediate)

Minimum 2 Additional skill

Should have fair knowledge on Process & fault management, Project management & Configuration management.

Expected technical skills are as below.

• Firewall: Cisco ASA & Paloalto
• NAC: Cisco ISE
• Vulnerability & Compliance: FireMon/Tuffin/Skybox security
• DNS/DHCP/IPAM: Inflobox/Bluecat/Umbrella
• Logs & monitoring: Ordr, Splunk Analytics & Cisco Security Network Analytics (Stealthwatch)

Additional technical skills are as below.

• Monitoring tools(Solarwinds, Thousand Eyes, CA, NetMri (Inflobox)/Gigamon etc)
• Hybrid Network: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform,DNAC,ACI
• PMP/Frameworks (ITIL/ISO/TOGAF)
• Automation (Netbrain)
• Scripting skills
• Routing & Switching (R&S): (Cisco/Cisco Nexus/Juniper/Fortinet/Extreme Networks/Meraki)
• Soft skills(Pronunciation, Structure, Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary & Interaction)

Responsibilities:

As a SME, you will have the following key responsibilities:

• Providing expert advice and guidance to customers on information security matters, addressing their questions and concerns with confidence.
• Offering industry-standard solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of customers, ensuring their satisfaction, and building their trust.
• Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in information security and applying this knowledge to offer cutting-edge solutions.
• Collaborating with internal teams to develop comprehensive and robust information security solutions that align with industry standards.
• Conducting thorough assessments of customer requirements and proposing tailored solutions that meet their unique needs and regulatory compliance.
• Serving as a trusted advisor to customers, assisting them in navigating complex security challenges and providing insights to enhance their overall security posture.
• Collaborating with the sales team to develop persuasive proposals and presentations that showcase the benefits and value of our solutions.
• Continuously improving your knowledge and expertise in information security by staying updated with the latest industry advancements and certifications.

Basic Requirements:

To excel in this role as an SME, you should possess the following qualifications:

Technology Skills/ work exposure.

• Should have configured, administered and documented PaloAlto Firewall (Cloud NGFW, VM-Series, CN-Series & PA-Series) & Cisco Firewall infrastructure
• Should have developed innovative initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of services using the REST API or scripts
• Should have monitored incoming and outgoing network traffic perform regular security audit and remediate them using FireMon as security audit tool
• Should have enhance the effectiveness of IT services by enforcing policy based decisions and also helps in gathering real time contextual information from users, network devices for making proactive governance decisions using Cisco ISE
• Exposed to track issues and be the primary contact for any technical assistance using Ordr
• Troubleshoot and support multiple firewall and security vendor’s solutions including Palo Alto and Cisco ASA Firewalls
• Must have analyze and visualize data for actionable insights and be the primary contact for any technical assistance using Splunk Analytics
• Must have analyze and visualize data for actionable insights and detect anomalies and treats across the enviornment using Splunk Analytics
• Must have LAN/WAN Network engineering experience
• Must be familiar with Firewall Best Practices
• Must be experienced in providing guidance to manage & identify devices connected to network specifically on  DNS, DHCP & IP address management (Collectively known as DDI)

Other qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and solid work experience in information security, Information Systems, or a related technology field.
• Proven experience in providing expert advice and guidance on information security matters.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices in information security.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers and build trust.

Additional operational skills/Preferences:

In addition to the basic requirements, the following skills and preferences are highly desirable:

• Familiarity with various information security frameworks and regulations.
• Experience in conducting security assessments and developing tailored solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address complex customer challenges.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with sales processes and the ability to develop persuasive proposals and presentations.
• Continuous learning mindset with a desire to stay updated with the latest advancements and certifications in the field of information security.
