Overview
PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for property/corporate financial analysis, KPI reporting, and support strategic planning for hotel portfolio. This is an on-property position and will support management daily by delivering timely and accurate data and analyses. This position will interact with the Corporate office and board of directors in preparation of both internal and external financial and KPI reports to drive strategic decision making for the portfolio.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Consolidate and analyze financial results and KPIs in comparison to budget and forecast to gain understanding of current performance and areas of opportunities
- Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis
- Work to find areas for reporting and process improvement/efficiencies
- Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to Area Director of Finance based on sound analysis
- Compile questions and comments from hotel managers to provide operational context to financial analysis
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to Area GM on areas or ways to improve business performance
- Monthly and quarterly lender report preparation
- Budgeting and forecasting:
- Work closely with leadership team to establish current and long term targets
- Lead budgeting and forecasting process. Coordinate with all hotel managers to gather key information and data needed to develop budgets and forecasts
- Deliver and present quarterly forecasts and annual budget to Corporate office
- Other
- Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
- Annually compile assumptions and information to execute long range plan
- Ad hoc financial models and projects
Supportive Functions
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
- Special projects as assigned by Manager or Ownership
Qualifications

- Required systems experience: Excel (financial modeling preferred), PowerPoint, Word
- Preferred systems experience: Great Plains, Profit Sword, Marriott PMS & Fosse, Opera
- Strong decision-making, self-motivated and self-driven
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with consultive approach in ability to relate and work with management, staff and all other stakeholders
- Strong financial analysis skills with ability and understanding of accounting principles
- Organization is very important with strong notetaking ability
- Demonstrates a process thinking and strategic planning ability
- Strong sense of urgency and a passion for the Hotel business
- Must have strong customer service skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA, CFA, CMA or MBA preferred
- 3-5 years of Financial Analysis experience
