What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Kaiser Permanente?
SEIU Local 105 - $25.45- $28.95*

• Performs minor electrical work such as repairing & /or replacing faulty switches, electrical circuits & wiring, sockets & plugs.
• Performs minor plumbing work such as repairing & maintaining faucets, drains & bathroom fixtures.
• Performs minor carpentry work including hanging wall fixtures & equipment, building cabinet & shelves, & repairing walls, floors, furniture & fixtures.
• Performs periodic cleaning of debris from grounds including the lawn & parking lot. Shovels snow from walkways, as required.
• Patches, sands & primes surfaces for painting, e.g., clean spills, to provide a safe environment for patients & staff.
• Performs occasional janitorial work, e.g., cleans spills, to provide a safe environment for patients & staff.
• Assists in the relocation of material resources within the facility, e.g., move office furniture, equipment & supplies, as needed.
• May work w/ heavy equipment & materials that weigh up to 20 pounds. Also may work w/ various electrical gadgets & supplies.
Qualifications:
Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in HVAC repair or temperature controls, or electrical fields.
Education
- Completion of a basic refrigeration course or equivalent.
- High School graduation or equivalent.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Current city and county license appropriate to the above requirements desirable.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance procedures, assist in maintaining and repairing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, water, mechanical and electrical systems; and to perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and occasional janitorial work for the medical facility.
