What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Audit position at Kalahari Resorts?

JOB SUMMARY: The Night Audit person ensures all revenue is posted to the correct departments and balances all departments' revenue on a daily basis, as well as, completes all necessary reports. This position also provides quality guest services and retail outlet support during the night shift.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Accounting and/or hotel experience preferred but not required.
LICENSE/PERMITS REQUIRED: None
KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE: Manage the installation and maintenance of accounting computer systems and equipment to ensure optimum performance. Strong Excel background required.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of two years of progressive experience in accounting, hotel, or related field required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of accounting/finance needed.
Ability to understand and use math concepts.
Ability to interpret technical information presented.
Work with math problems quickly and accurately.
Must be team-oriented and enjoy a hands-on environment.
Must be detail-oriented and able to balance multiple responsibilities and tasks.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report financial information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in stationary position for up to 8 hours per shift.
Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Make independent decisions while maintaining strong ethical standards consistent with company policy, rules and the ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger. Collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment that is constantly changing based on room occupancy and group business.
Must be willing to cross train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
Must be able to prioritize job functions in order to meet deadlines.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other departments to achieve common hotel goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Perform all audit procedures as set forth by the Director of Finance on a daily basis.
Provide, distribute, and process all required audit reports.
Verify the status of all wake-up calls and ensure they are properly handled.
Balance all cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
Make deposits of cash.
Prepare the Front Office for the morning shift and reset day's business.
Act as Guest Service Representative during the night time hours.
Act as Manager-on-Duty during the night time hours when requested.
Attend and actively participate in front office meetings when requested.
Participate in all training and cross-training programs.
Act as PBX Operator during audit shift.
Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly warm manner at all times.
Serve as retail clerk for "outpost" gift shops during night time hours.
Keep supervisor informed of any unusual events and/or deviations of policies.
Maximize productivity, indentify problem areas, and assist in finding and implementing solutions.
Participate in the Daily Promise meeting if applicable, Department Meetings and trainings required by management.
Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance.
