What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Developer (On-Site) position at Kalkomey Enterprises, LLC?
We are seeking an experienced content developer to work on a variety of educational materials, including online courses, printed materials, and certification exams. This position requires writing and polishing content for recreational activities, such as boating and hunting. As a member of the content team, this person needs to be detail oriented, organized, and collaborative. Preference will be given to those with a cover letter.
Responsibilities
- Develop new educational materials and revise existing materials, adhering to curriculum standards and our company style guide.
- Organize material into a logical order for presentation to students.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and state agencies to ensure accuracy of content.
- Research laws and regulations and rewrite them to be clear and easy to understand.
- Write and edit standards-based assessment items.
- Edit and proofread, using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and formatting.
- Ensure consistency throughout our products.
- Meet deadlines consistently.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, education, or communications (or comparable work experience in writing)
- Familiarity with Mac, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to adhere to a style guide, e.g., Chicago Manual of Style
- Excellent time-management skills
- Experience using a content management system
- Willingness to learn about recreational safety
- Basic knowledge of outdoor recreational activities (a plus)
