What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Buyer position at Kalsec?
Essential Job Functions:
- Buyer may execute all Purchasing functions (inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, schedule and track shipments, and various other activities) for various Food Protection raw materials
- Buyer may execute all Purchasing functions (inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, schedule and track shipments, and various other activities) for various Essential Oil Items
- Execute all Purchasing functions (inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, schedule and track shipments, and various other activities) for other raw materials
- Buyer may execute all Purchasing functions (inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, schedule and track shipments, and various other activities) for various raw materials and packaging for Kalsec global locations
- Buyer will process incoming raw material samples so they can be evaluated
- Buyer will maintain ERP inventory control settings for assigned materials
- Ensure supplier compliance with Kalsec Quality and Procurement requirements including collection of require documentation
- Address and respond to supplier performance issues.
- Report current and forecasted future market conditions for assigned items
- Identify and implement cost and process improvement initiatives
- Identify new suppliers and geographies then drive qualification process
- Travel as needed to ensure supplier compliance as well as worldwide supply conditions.
- Back up other Procurement roles
- Assist Director of Procurement in various projects
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years relevant Procurement experience
- Solid understanding of negotiation practices
Desired:
- College degree in relevant field such as Supply Chain Management
- Procurement experience in the food industry
- 5 years of ERP experience
