JOB SUMMARY
Leads the manufacturing resource planning activity for assigned products and suppliers. Responsible for order entry, the replenishment of resin, packaging, and other components. Communicates requirements to suppliers, monitors performance to plan, and follows up as necessary. Assists in maintaining data base and inventory accuracy. Provides backup support to other personnel as necessary. Primary metrics: supplier delivery performance, inventory turns, expedited freight cost.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or significant experience with repetitive manufacturing
- Previous experience in a scheduling or material planning role
- Knowledge of replenishment methods and tools
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills, adept at working with ERP systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Review requirements for raw materials. Release requirements and forecast information to suppliers.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with supplier contacts. Maintain strong relationships with internal departments.
3. Monitor shipments and deliveries. Ensure timely delivery in event of inventory changes or customer requirement changes.
4. Resolve supply chain issues. Expedite material when necessary. Develop contingency plans to protect the supply of key components.
5. Procure material to support launch and sample builds.
6. Manage subcontracted suppliers. Transfer raw material as needed and manage inventory as appropriate.
7. Manage ECN’s and their impact on supplier replenishment.
8. Develop and implement scheduling techniques. Solve problems and improve systems.
9. Engage in inventory accuracy improvement, solve problems as they arise.
10. Collect, manage, and submit appropriate NAFTA documentation as requested.
11. Back up other Materials team members as assigned.
