As Planner, you will be responsible for supporting Driver Managers, efficiently planning trucks to achieve on-time service and understanding current customer requirements, lanes and expectations.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE:

• Have a good understanding of geography & truck routing to maximize revenue along with minimizing out of route miles. 
• Having a good pulse on the current market rates & negotiation skills preferred in order to book loads
• Understanding  the current customer requirements & lanes, along with their expectations. Efficiently planning trucks to achieve set on-time service. 
• Supporting the driver managers, coaching and developing them to be successful in their role while holding drivers accountable.
• Running daily/weekly/monthly reports for fleet revenue/miles/deadhead etc.
• Setting up bi-weekly/monthly meetings to go over the current reports with individual driver managers. 
• Coordinating with the shop to schedule truck maintenance, service etc.
• Managing the fleet trailer pools in all the company yards as well as in customers’ facilities. Making sure trailers are being utilized efficiently with minimum dwell time.
• Participating in customer meetings along with CSR team to understand any market changes/potential lanes/ service concerns etc.
• Successfully managing the team of driver managers & drivers. 

Requirements

• 5 years of demonstrated work experience in the transportation industry
• Thorough knowledge of fleet management and logistics
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
