Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Greenfield, IN.

At Kaman Fluid Power, our Quality Assurance Specialists are responsible for inspecting finished or in-process fabricated electrical, hydraulic, mechanical parts & equipment, and assemblies and determining acceptance or rejection. Performs testing of manufactured parts or products to certify quality and adherence to specifications, blueprints and schematics. These responsibilities will be carried out in a manner consistent with the goals and standards of the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test engineered systems for accuracy per the standardized procedure
  • Perform and oversee testing of all electrical panels, controls & automation, hydraulic power, valve stands, process systems to ensure proper fit, form, and function
  • Document all errors and subsequent rework time
  • Troubleshoot and repair as needed
  • Ensures quality problems are identified and resolved
  • Recommend changes or improvements to the manufacturing and quality processes
  • Maintain proper documentation and reports pertaining to the quality process
  • Assist panel builders & fabricators with technical issues
  • Interpret schematics & drawings
  • Maintain company standards for quality & safety
  • Exercise safe work habits
Qualifications:
Education:
  • H.S. diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree or technical training in related field preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum two years of related experience in electromechanical/ hydraulics/ pneumatics/ fluid power
  • Valid Driver’s License
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
  • Manufacturing processes and electrical equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electro-mechanical controls, motor controllers, conveyance, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical panel building and assembly
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, instruction manuals, bill of material parts lists, specifications and other technical documents
  • Use of standard inspection tools such as multi-meters, loop calibrators, RTD simulators, micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, etc. with effective safety, testing and measurement techniques and procedures; attention to high voltage is required
  • Knowledge of machine specifications, motion/process control, quality assurance and automated test techniques
  • Technical and electrical/mechanical problem solving
  • Document release and revision control
  • Lean manufacturing
