As a Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for administering and negotiating contracts of high dollar value and technical complexity with various govenment agencies, federal contracting firms, as well as commercial contractors.  You should have general knowldge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), International Traffic Arms Regulations, and domestic and international shipping terms.  Ideal candidates will embody our core vales:  Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Creativity, and Honor.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates proposal preparation and conducts contract negotiations, contract administration and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. 
  • Submits proposals and negotiates customer prices, schedules, terms and conditions for assigned projects, ensuring that terms are fair and acceptable to company management. 
  • Coordinates activities of all functions within the company concerned with the given proposal(s) to arrive at an acceptable contract.  Be capable of justifying labor rates, burdens and material estimates while in negotiations.
  • Issues sales orders that describe work to be performed, delivery schedules, any unusual terms or conditions of the contract and assigns responsibility within the company. 
  • Evaluates contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Maintains communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties.  Ensures final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
  • Prepares periodic reports showing delinquencies, sales forecasts, sales order status, etc to keep management fully informed of progress. 
  • Maintains knowledge of current and anticipated procurement needs and regulations through contacts in various government agencies, customer contacts and government or trade journals. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Deree in a business or finance discipline preferred.
  • 3 to 5 year's experience in functions such as Contracts, Procurement, Business Development or related technical field, preferable in an aerospace or defense-related environment.
  • Broad knowledge of a professional or technical field such as contracts, proposals, finance or business administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Broad knowledge of contracts administration and/or procurement.    
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR) and domestic/international shipping terms required.
