The Intake Specialist is an entry-level position responsible for meeting federal time-frames related to the provision of child support applications and the processing of referrals from public assistance programs. The Intake Specialist reviews referrals to ensure they are appropriate, closes duplicate case referrals, or facilitates the merging of duplicate member referrals. This individual is also responsible for constructing accurate cases on the State system and soliciting additional information from customers. Solid intake work allows Case Managers to move expeditiously through the next phase of child support services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Send out and track applications for non-TANF cases
Review automated referrals and close if inappropriate
Enter new cases onto state-wide computer system
Solicit additional information as required from customers to prepare the case for the next appropriate action
Check available locate resources for additional address and employment information and updated the state computer system
Work state-wide computer system prompts to keep case information current and support automated case actions
Respond to case inquiries by phone, mail, or email
Track own performance through special reports
Meet the case processing time-frames required be federal regulations
Assist with clerical duties, as needed
Perform related duties as required
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year’s experience in clerical position preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office products and operating a personal computer
