Job Title: Surgical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Assistant to join our team at Kansas City Dental Implants & Oral Surgery. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during surgery by performing duties such as tissue retraction, intravenous lines, and completing documentation.
• Verify patient identity and operative sites.
• Discuss surgical procedures with surgeons, including operative consent and methods of operative exposure.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Monitor patient intraoperative status.
• Obtain and inspect sterile and non-sterile surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments.
• Operate sterilization devices.
• Complete patient clinical narratives.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or the ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification preferred.
• Licensed dental assistant preferred.
• Radiology certification preferred.
