What does success look like?
A day in the life of a Compliance Specialist could be:
Contract Compliance:
Prepare, analyze, and review Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) using standardized templates. Ensure MOUs meet donor intent and all other required policies and principals. Identify concerns with gift agreements and consult with others and recommend revisions. Understand and apply IRS rules and regulations specific to charitable donations, University and Foundation policies and principles, applicable state and federal laws, and industry standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
Record fund information into software systems, including customer relationship management software, KSN, or other systems as appropriate. Gather information needed to review MOUs for proper administration, including assistance with fund audit processes and information gathering for other compliance services team members as requested.
Customer Service:
Respond to questions from donors, colleagues, and campus partners using report analysis and data comparison. Support university scholarship awarding process using the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) software.
