Compensation: $59,000 - $65,000 annually

What does success look like?

  • Successfully partner with others to ensure donor Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) are written to meet donor intent and administrative directives.
  • Provide accurate reports, monitor the use of funds, and ensure efficiency in their work.
  • Uphold a positive can-do demeanor, work collaboratively, and serve as a resource to donors, colleagues, and University constituents. 
  • Exceptional customer service to stakeholders including colleagues, donors, clients, campus partners, and guests.


A day in the life of a Compliance Specialist could be:


Contract Compliance:

Prepare, analyze, and review Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) using standardized templates. Ensure MOUs meet donor intent and all other required policies and principals. Identify concerns with gift agreements and consult with others and recommend revisions. Understand and apply IRS rules and regulations specific to charitable donations, University and Foundation policies and principles, applicable state and federal laws, and industry standards.


Reporting and Documentation:

Record fund information into software systems, including customer relationship management software, KSN, or other systems as appropriate. Gather information needed to review MOUs for proper administration, including assistance with fund audit processes and information gathering for other compliance services team members as requested.


Customer Service:

Respond to questions from donors, colleagues, and campus partners using report analysis and data comparison. Support university scholarship awarding process using the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business or related field; or a combination of education and experience in charitable gift administration, grant administration, contract review, paralegal, or project coordination
  • 3-4 years professional experience in an office environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levels
  • Customer-centric approach with the ability to listen and translate the needs of various internal and external partners into action
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word


What we want:

  • Previous experience using a customer relationship management software
  • Experience with non-profits, ideally in higher education
  • Experience working with others to understand their needs, goal, desires, and what they are trying to accomplish while staying in compliance
