About This Role:
Our Facilities Management grounds team create and maintain a safe, aesthetically pleasing outdoor environment enjoyed by the K-State community.
The Landscape Spray Technician will observe and perform best management practices for landscape material and turf grass care by diagnosis and control of diseases, weeds, insect problems ; evaluates and selects products for treatment of weeds and insects ; identify monitor, assess and analyze pest types and acts to treat pests; assist in the installation of landscape materials ; assist with hardscape project installation ; performs general grounds maintenance tasks ; transports furniture, equipment, and materials; removes snow and ice and treats outdoor surface s during, after and in preparation of inclement weather.

What You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Qualifications:
Requires six months of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by a hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer high school graduation/GED
Familiarity with grounds/pest related chemicals and their application
Familiarity with turf grasses and other landscape materials
Experience working in an institutional grounds maintenance unit
Familiarity with a variety of equipment and tools used in grounds maintenance
Ability to read, interpret and work from sketches, blueprints and specifications
Ability to complete concise and accurate reports and records
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with others
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Valid driver's license upon employment.
Commercial Pesticide Applicators certificate in 3A and 3B within 6 months of appointment.
