The Project Manager is the focal point for appraising contractor engineering and procurement performance and ensuring that deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner so as to successfully complete the Project Portfolio to which they are assigned, consistent with companies objectives and technical requirements
Provide the major effort to coordinate inter-disciplinary activities and interfaces, monitor and appraise contractor engineering and procurement performance so that it complies with the standards of company, deal with problems, solutions, complexities, and difficulties throughout the life span of the Project Portfolio to which they are assign, to meet companies’ expectations. In this regard, the Project Manager is the technical and engineering coordination leader responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Coordination of / participation in PFD, P&ID, MOC, PHA, HAZOP, etc., review meetings and technical proceedings
- Coordination of all engineering and design resources including work force planning and organization and inter-disciplinary squad checks, clash checks, etc.
- Coordinating / participating in development of equipment specifications, bids, bid tabs, vendor selection process if and/or as required
- Monitoring / controlling/reporting of engineering progress against cost/schedule/quality baselines
- Verifying that work is proceeding in compliance with company standards and specifications as well as industry codes, standards and accepted practices
- Development of Engineering and Design Management Plans
- Ensure facilities meet all specified requirements in accordance with companies published requirements
- Monitor and appraise contractor performance in the areas of cost estimating, progress measurement, quality, schedule and construction safety planning, and to identify corrective action deemed necessary to maintain contractual standards of performance
- Coordinate the appraisal (engineering and procurement Quality Assurance) of contractor performance with other members of the Project Team that are assigned and to request technical specialist participation from centralized engineering staff in order to confirm that appraisal is complete. The contractor has taken that effective corrective action.
- Recommend corrective action to the Engineering Manager and Project Manager as well as to monitor contractor efforts to correct deficiencies
